How a hearing aid microphone works

The process for setting up and using MELINK™ Remote Mic is fairly simple.

Start by making sure your hearing aids are compatible with the device and that they’re charged and powered on.
Turn on the MELINK™ Remote Mic by pressing the power button for two seconds until the green LED light appears. Once the device is on, follow the instructions on the Miracle-Ear app to pair the hearing aid microphone with your hearing aids.
Once paired, you can begin using your MELINK™ Remote Mic right away. Ask your conversation partner to clip the small, discreet microphone to their lapel or wear a lanyard around their neck with the microphone attached. The microphone should sit within eight inches of the speaker’s mouth. Now, when the speaker talks, you will hear their voice directly in your ears.

You can manage the volume coming through your hearing aids by using the Miracle-Ear app, adjusting on the MELINK™ Remote Mic or through hearing aid user controls. The typical operating range of the MELINK™ Remote Mic is about 60 feet. Environmental factors, such as obstructions and human body positioning, might affect that distance. As you get farther apart, sound quality may be affected.
