Professional Experience

I graduated Magna Cumme Laude from Southwestern College with a Bachelors of Social Work in 1993. After college I moved to CA & worked for Hillview Acres children’s home as the medical coordinator until 2000. I then went on to work for the Topeka Public schools in the Speech and Language Department & continued on to work with Miracle-Ear in September of 2016. I am Board Certified, a member of IHS (the International Hearing Society) and a member of the KS Hearing Society Inc.

Favorite Part of Working with Miracle-Ear

I love that Miracle-Ear has many options for patients and gives lifetime aftercare along with such great technologies. I enjoy sharing with my patients how to care for and best use their aids. My patients quickly become like family to me, where stories are shared, laughter is exchanged and sometimes the heaviness of life finds a soft landing in my office. I strive to offer top notch care, in turn helping those patients best connect to their world.

Fun Facts About Me

Topeka has been home to my husband, AJ and myself since 2000. Growing up in western Kansas as a farmer’s daughter gives me a great appreciation for hard working Kansans. We raised two daughters here in Topeka and enjoy time spent with them when they carve out time for mom and dad. I enjoy time at the lake, time spent with family, friends and our two dogs. On occasion I play a mean game of pickleball, love to travel and make new memories.

Tinnitus

Do you hear buzzing, humming or ringing in the ears? You’re not alone. Nearly 10 to 15 percent of American adults have tinnitus. While most people experience moments or brief periods of hearing ringing in the ears at some time in their lives, some people experience tinnitus more regularly. Tinnitus is not a condition itself, but rather a symptom of another condition. 90 percent of people with tinnitus also have noise-induced hearing loss. The good news? Hearing aids can help.

Hearing aid repairs

Hearing aids are amazing devices—except when they’re not working properly. Just like other pieces of technology, they can sometimes experience technical issues. Luckily, our 3-year warranty* covers most hearing aid repairs. Repairs may be needed if troubleshooting your device hasn’t worked or your hearing aid has been physically damaged. The issue could be caused by one of a few things, including the internal tubing, microphone or case.

At Miracle-Ear, we know that if we, together, take care of your hearing aid, it will take care of you. It's essential that your device functions properly and allows you to live life to the fullest. That's why we offer free lifetime service and hearing aid aftercare*. This includes clean and checks, adjustments, repairs and annual hearing tests.

Custom-fit

Our custom-fit hearing aids are molded to fit each person’s unique ear shape. Your hearing instrument specialist will take a mold of your ear while you're in the office. This is quick and painless! It will then get sent to the manufacturer, where your hearing aid will be created just for you. Custom-fit hearing aids are extremely comfortable, discreet and provide very natural sound quality.
